Factoria – Eastgate – Newcastle

Located directly south of I-90, the neighborhoods of Factoria, Eastgate and Newcastle offer a combination of residential and commercial spaces within close proximity to Cougar Mountain Park - one of the county's largest outdoor areas. Depending on where you live, the area is served by three school districts: Bellevue, Issaquah and Renton Public Schools. Newcastle Beach Park, the largest beach park in the Bellevue city limits is located here. The area is also home to the T-Mobile headquarters.


Many transit options with I-90 and I-405 close by.

Several bus routes provide access within the area, north to Bellevue, south to Renton/Tukwila and west to Seattle (though connections may need to be made). Morning driving commute time to Seattle averages around 30 minutes with drives to Downtown Bellevue taking about 20 minutes.

Visit the Newport Way and Newcastle King County libraries.

Offering more than 4.1 million items, including books, newspapers, audio and videotapes, CDs, DVD and online resources, the King county Library system is a wealth of information and fun. All branches have free public Wi-Fi. Both the Newport Way and Newcastle branches were recently renovated and re-opened in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Preschool offered through the South Bellevue Community Center.

The South Bellevue Community Center, operated by the Boys and Girls Club, is located at the Eastgate Park. Here there are a number of preschool activities (and more!). ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) and Head Start are early learning programs that help children under age 5 build skills that will get them ready for kindergarten, prepare them to excel in school and be successful as adults. These programs are available nearby in Bellevue and Renton.

Depending on where you may live, there are a few districts that serve the area. Issaquah and Bellevue School Districts are ranked among the top in Washington. Major grocery options, including Walmart.

The area has a variety of grocery options, including a Walmart, Safeway and QFC. The shopping districts of Bellevue are just to your north and the Southcenter area in Tukwila is just a short drive down I-405. The area does not have any food banks locally, but there are three located in East Bellevue, including the Bellevue Food Bank and Emergency Services (Hopelink), the Renewal Food Bank (Northwest Harvest) and the World Impact Network Food Bank.

A great beach park and lots of play options at Eastgate Park.

Newcastle Beach Park offers great summertime swimming with lifeguards on-duty. The South Bellevue Community Center has a number of recreation activities, including an indoor play area for young kids. For more adventurous walks, Cougar Mountain Park has miles of trails to explore.
